Franklin, DeJesus Lead Gators to 92-70 Victory Over Bay Path

PAXTON, Mass. -- Pine Manor Women's Basketball junior Natasia Franklin (Windsor, Conn.) scored a game-high 24 points and sophomore Ari DeJesus (Providence, R.I) recorded her first career double-double, scoring 19 points and collecting 12 rebounds, to help lead the Gators to a commanding 92-70 victory over Bay Path College in the opening round of the 2013 AMCATS Classic Tip-Off Tournament.

The Gators raced out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and never looked back eventually building their lead to as many as 36 points with 17:40 remaining in the second half.

For the Gators, Sybil Lynch (Hoboken, N.J.) also finished in double figures with 13 points while Alexis Lee (Akron, Ohio) finished with nine points to go along with a pair of assists.

Bay Path had two players in double figures. Senior Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was 10-for-19 from the floor scoring a game-high 26 points, while sophomore Gladys Reed (Hamden, Conn.) generated 12 points and and 8 rebounds in the loss.

The Gators will take on the winner of the 7:00 PM game between Anna Maria and Yeshiva in tomorrow's championship game at 2:00 PM.
