Gators Prevail 12-4 in Season Opening Win

The Gators sputtered on defense early, but the bats woke up and the pitching was excellent allowing the Gators to find the win column in their inaugural game.

Alec Hanney tossed 5.2 innings for the Gators scattering 6 hits and only allowing 3 unearned runs. James Sneyd came in for the final 3.1 earning his first Gator win and striking out 4.

The Gator bats were lead by Cedrick Pena who was 3-5 with a solo home run and a double. Terry Daniels who went 2-3 with a home run and 3 runs scored, and Eduary Baez who went 1-3 with a rocket of an opposite field home run to tie the game at 3.

Steven Depalma struck out 10 and left the game with a lead for the Lynx.

The Gators (1-0)  return to action Thursday against Curry College.
